Kia Woods

Kia Woods is the Director of the Student Service Center and ID Center where she leads and oversees the operational functions of both areas, ensuring strategic direction, efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to the Columbia University community.

She began her career at Columbia University in 2016 as a temporary staff member in the Student Service Center. Through dedication and hard work, she quickly advanced to Assistant Director before assuming her current role as Director.

Kia started her career in higher education as a Resident Director at Purchase College where she spent six years in Student Affairs. She later transitioned to Afterschool programming, dedicating ten years as a Site Director, private College Consultant, and Family Worker Coordinator in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Plainfield, NJ.

Kia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Leadership, and Technology.

Originally from New York, Kia is a food aficionado who loves all things Marvel (especially the movies) and has a weakness for gummy candy.
